Here is a list of non-profit organizations that are currently enrolled in the “Clearly Giving Back” program. Click on their name to be directed to their website and see the diversity of non-profit organizations we have here in Tucson! Check back often, as this list will be updated as more organizations join. We will also be keeping a running tab of the total funds raised by each organization. The Hermitage Cat Shelter is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization supported entirely by donations. We are dedicated to the shelter, protection, and care of homeless cats, especially those that are often not considered adoptable by other organizations. We are both an adoption facility and long-term sanctuary for those felines who are “adoption-challenged.” including felines who are FIV or FeLV-positive, and other types of chronic health issues. All of our kitties roam free within 8,000 sq ft of outdoor/indoor living space. There are a variety of ways that the public can help; by enhancing the life of a cat through adoption, or by sponsoring a cat and providing financial assistance for its care. The Hermitage also runs the Pima Community Cat Initiative whose mission is to prevent the proliferation of feral cats by providing education and training, as well as, subsidizing costs for spaying and neutering.
Optimist Clubs are dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids” and do their part through community service programs. Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.
